The project sought to address institutional capacity weaknesses brought about by Zimbabwe’s decade of economic decline (1999-2008) which had severely compromised the public sector’s governance and capacity to delivery its core functions.
capacity development (ECD) in Zimbabwe: • There has been consistent and sustained interest ex-pressed by central government planning authorities since the late 1980s in improving the quantum and quality of evaluation. This interest was not shared evenly throughout government, but evaluation had a strong champion in the National Planning .
The Ministry of Health and Child Care established a Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement (QA/QI) Directorate under the division of Policy, Planning and Monitoring and Evaluation in 2010. Its mandate was to create a system for coordinating all health care related quality efforts under the ministry.

The capacity assessment of the disaster risk management (DRM) system in Zimbabwe was conducted with a focus on national and sub-national capacities for DRM using the CADRI Capacity Assessment and Planning Tool for Disaster Risk Management developed by the CADRI partner agencies.
II Mission The Health Systems 20/20 cooperative agreement, funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) for the period 2006-2011, helps USAID-supported countries address health system barriers to the use of
