This material is a crushed stone dust similar to the fines found in 2A. It has a 3/8 inch topsize and sizes down to a silt-sized material. The material is used for pipe bedding and walkway areas. This material will not compact and drains slowly.
Some of the most common crushed stone sizes include: >1/4” – At less than a quarter of an inch in size, this type of crushed stone (usually stone grits or stone dust) can be used for traction, for filling in void spaces between other aggregate materials, or even for use as a binding agent.
This is 1/2 inch clear crush gravel, it’s used commonly for either pathways and/ or driveways. it’s a nice size and I find it quite aesthetically appealing once its been washed and the dust is off. it looks quite good. So, those are some of your choices for driveways in terms of gravel.
Crushed stone #10 (also called stone dust) – Screenings or dust. For fabrication of concrete blocks and pavers and for riding arenas. Crushed stone #57 – Sizes of about 3/4″. For concrete and asphalt mix, driveways, landscaping and French drains.
#1 – The # 1 crushed stone grade is the largest of the crushed stone grades and includes stone between 2-4 inches long. This material is great for larger jobs or for filling in larger holes. #3 – This size of the stone ranges from 1/2 to 2 inches long. This material is a great choice for railroad projects and those that require drainage.
